Ask Away Friday: Week 7

It's week 7 guys!! If you haven't been keeping up with #Ask Away Friday you may be wondering what it's all about. The long and short version is that the fabulous Penny at The Real Housewives of Caroline County
kicked off this link up as a way to get to know your fellow blogger. You exchange 10 questions, then link up with other bloggers doing the same in the name of Ask Away Friday. If you have been participating from week to week like me, then you probably look forward to it and enjoy it as much as I do- it's seriously fun reading everyone's questions and answers. It is getting tricky to come up with new and interesting questions each week too, but I think that's what's keeping it fun!

The Real Housewife of Caroline County

This week the lovely Miss Penny herself asked me to swap with her and I gladly accepted! So, below you will find my answers to the 10 questions she asked me, and don't forget to hop on over to her page to check out what I asked her...there are some fun ones (hint: anyone ever play dump, hump, marry? ;)

Penny Asked Me...

1. Stretch your left arm out as far as you can, What can you touch?
Ruby :) More specifically her little head. She's sleeping on the Boppy right next to me.

2. What is the last thing you watched on TV?
I'm glad you asked because it was the movie Labyrinth actually and I was suuuper excited when I saw that it
was on. Not that I don't own multiple copies, but you know how it is when you find one of your favorite movies on TV...Have you seen it? I've been trying to convince John to let us be Sarah and Jareth for Halloween for years, but he won't do it :(

3. What is on the walls of the room you are in?
Lots of stuff. Wanna see?

Lots of yellow, black and white damask wallpaper, a bunch of stuff I threw together going up the stairs, a blown up canvas photo strip of John and I pre-children ;) and a collage I made.

4. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy?
Ok...Aside from giving money to some of my favorite charities, helping out my family with a huge chunk of change for all of them, then setting up a nice big interest collecting account for my kiddies...My husband and I would love to own a boat so we'd definitely make that purchase, along with a nice lake house to go with it. It's hard to say if we would move or just make some major improvements on our house- it needs it, but we have also always joked about moving down the road to Princeton. I'd also open my own business <sigh> Someone from my hometown actually won a share of the Powerball jackpot a few weeks ago and bought their ticket at the food store my parents shop at!! That's the closest to the jackpot I will ever get!

5. Tell me something about you that most people don't know.
I am pretty much an open book. I wear who I am like a billboard and a lot about me can be assumed from the second we meet. I guess like everyone there's a whole lot more to me beyond being that "artsy girl."  I write about a lot of those layers here. If no one knows, it most likely will be staying that way. I guess in general though, most people don't realize that I am a lot more stressed out and anxiety ridden then I seem. I am told all the time that I'm the most chill person (the nurses during my cesarean with Ruby said I was "stoic" and so easy going. My response was, what the hell else should I be doing right now? You guys know what you're doing, you lead I'll follow.) Anyway, I'm a lot more emotional, stressed out and anxious than I seem, but have a hard time expressing it or asking for help.

6. Would you go bungee jumping or sky diving?
In a word? No. For one, I know that bungee jumping would make me ill. Sky diving looks fun and I'm cool with heights, I've just never really had the urge to go.

7. Have you ever been in a beauty pageant? Absolutely nothing against them, but I don't think I am beauty pageant material for many reasons. Mostly because I am not a small girl, never have been, and though I'm in the midst of a strict diet right now, I never will be. I'm ok with that. I guess there are "plus size" pageants, but I don't want to be known as miss plus-size New Jersey, thanks.

8. Have you ever won a trophy?
I danced competitively for many years up until senior year of high school, so I had a bunch of trophies and ribbons for that.

9. How many keys on your key ring?
Let me go count...

Seven. And a whole crap ton of those key chain coupon things. I really have to go through them. I still have one from Blockbuster (aww...remember those?) and American Eagle (seriously I think I only ever fit into their accessories...)

10. What is your best childhood memory?
I have a ton. It would be impossible to narrow it down to one, but the first one that popped into my head when I read this question is Christmas decorating with my long time BFF, Janine. We had a yearly tradition to decorate our house and the tree together. She would often come with my family to buy it, then we'd blast Johnny Mathis Christmas Carols and deck the halls. I think just the feeling of those family Christmases growing up is my favorite memory. I can still smell how it smelled, feel the excitement and wonder that I felt- it's a big part of why I hope to create the same feelings for my's pretty magical.

So those are my answers to Penny's awesome questions! Don't forget to stop by her blog to check out how she answered the questions I asked her. While you're at it, stop by and read what some of the other participants have to say and let them know you're reading!

  1. I LOVE your answers! Thank you so much for doing this with me and don't worry about the beauty pageant question, I get asked that one a lot too (in real life) and I'm always like "Really? No."

  2. As always, I had a blast reading your answers and getting to know your better. I have a whole bunch of those reqards cards thingies on my keys as many that they have their own hook thingie. LOL

    1. I should just get rid of them. I barely use any of them!

  3. I love your wall decorations! I wish I would be able to finally decorate our walls with my children's artworks. What a nice glimpse of your home life. :)

    1. Thank you! Get a piece of twine and some clothes pins clip their artwork up like decorations! They'll love it and itll look cute! In fact I just might take my own advice...Every time I open and close the fridge, one of Violet's drawings fall off.

  4. Hi Meg! Great answers and I am sooo loving that photo booth photo on your wall! I might have to "borrow" that idea ;-) Omgee, before we got our new car (which is actually 2 yrs old now) I had like a zillion keys on my key ring but because the key for the newer car has a remote and is super bulky I downsized to 3. I can't even tell you what all those other keys were for! I think I just like the sound they made! HAHA! Have a great day!

    1. Please do! I was elated when that thing came. Its was a shot in the dark because I wasn't sure if the pictures would be clear enough, but it works!

  5. Isn't it great when they are sleeping like that? Labyrinth is EPIC - dance magic dance! Yes! LOL
I am definitely an open book myself ... except for when I need to ask for help. I tend to try and do everything on my own and that gets me into trouble at times.
    It's hard!

  6. You do seem like an open book! I really enjoy getting to know you. The walls in your house are so awesome! I love your style, woman! xoxo That is so fun to see a movie you like on TV even if you have the movie. I agree!

  7. I love your site design! Your walls are amazing. Enjoy your bundle of joy!
