We all need a little music in our lives. A good song can answer a question, soothe the soul and provide an escape. It can recall a memory in the most vivid detail and evoke the most intense feelings.
“Music is the great uniter. An incredible force. Something that people who differ on everything and anything else can have in common.” -Sarah Dessen
We created Tunesday Tuesday to do just that, bring people together through music.
Every Monday night at 9pm the link up will go live at The Patchwork Paisley, Drinking the Whole Bottle, Momma Candy, and MrsTeeLoveLifeLaughter. We will designate a theme, and hope that you will share a song that embodies said theme for you. Post the video for the song, an audio clip, the lyrics- however you want to do it. Then, write a little something about why this song captures the week's theme and link up your post here with us!
Visit your hosts after 9pm (EST) on Monday nights
to find out what the theme is for the week!
Rules?
It would be awesome if you would follow your lovely hostesses (links below,) but other than that- let's have fun with this! Know a fellow music lover who should get in on the party? Let them know about it! Want to share your groove with the world? Tweet it should you feel so inclined. Want to grab a button? Go for it. It's really pretty and you'll find it down below.

You know that day where the sky looks like the picture above? The weather is perfect, maybe it's a Friday afternoon and it's just you and the open road. Unfortunately my version of that comes less with open road and more with lots of other cars and mini malls. Still, you will always find me windows down, surfing through my playlist for the perfect song to suit and heighten my mood. And when I find it? The volume goes up. High.
My mood changes like the (and sometimes depending on) the weather so here's a small sample of some of my faves: James Morrison is a staple and "Nothing Ever Hurt Like You" has me bobbing my head with soul. The Civil Wars "Barton Hollow" has such a gritty sound to it with that guitar riff that kinda makes you feel a bit country-bad-ass (I swear I was meant to be born in the sticks.) And more recently, Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" has such a sexy sound, I am loving the crap out of it before it's inevitably overplayed on every radio station in the tri-state area.
Enjoy! Better yet, turn it UP, then enjoy.
I had only heard Katy Perry's song (which should've been on my list too :) ) But The Civil Way may have to be my newest playlist addition... great picks!
ReplyDeletemeant to be born in the sticks??? hahaha. but you're right. it sounds totally BAD ASS. and the James Morrison song is quite catchy. Then again, so is K. Perry. i Love that reading Tunesday opens me up to music I've never heard before!
